Introduction
Evertaut Ltd was commissioned to manufacture and install bespoke seating for the newly developed Xplore! Planetarium in Wrexham, a flagship science engagement space designed to inspire and educate visitors of all ages.
Working to an exceptionally tight programme, Evertaut was tasked with delivering a high-quality, fully installed seating solution within strict time and budget constraints, without compromising on design, comfort or durability. The project required precision planning, responsive communication and a flexible approach to ensure the planetarium could open as scheduled.
Planning and Preparation
The project began with early stage collaboration to fully understand the Client’s vision and operational requirements. Our programme management key stages included:
- Seat Selection: Close consultation with the client team ensured the final seating design aligned with the immersive nature of the planetarium experience. They selected:
- Product: A bespoke Evertaut Olympian with a 20-degree angled back to ensure a completely immersive viewing experience
- Fabric: Just Colour Faux Leather
- Colour: Sapphire Blue
- Layout Drawing & Sample Revisions: Completed by 10th February, with sample reviews and approvals ensuring the final design met the Client’s expectations.
- Material Procurement: All materials were sourced, delivered and inspected by 17th March, ensuring they met Evertaut’s stringent quality management and ISO 9001:2015 accreditation standards.
- Programme Planning: With only two days before the client’s optimum installation date of 19th March, the seats were manufactured, inspected and packed within a business day (completing 18th March). This proactive manufacture ensured the project’s key milestones were met and avoided any such delay. A compressed delivery schedule required careful coordination across all design, manufacturing and installation teams.
Manufacturing Phase
The new bespoke Olympian auditorium seating was crafted at our HQ and Lancashire facility in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Prior to despatch, each chair underwent our scrupulous in-house inspection and testing phase to ensure it met Evertaut’s highest standards of quality, durability and performance.
Installation Phase:
Installation was completed efficiently and professionally, with the Evertaut team working collaboratively on site to ensure:
- Accurate setting out and alignment
- Secure and robust installation
- Minimal disruption to the wider project programme
Despite the challenging timeframe, the installation was completed on time and within budget.

Evertaut Ltd maintained its exemplary health and safety standards throughout:
- Zero Defects at Handover: The installation was delivered in excellent condition
- Fully Managed Site Practices: All operatives adhered to strict safety protocols
