Love is in the Chair – Bespoke Seating

Love seats have seen a recent re-surge in popularity and can be found in many theatres and independent cinemas across the country. These double width seats now provide a cosy area for couples to share but when they were first introduced in the late 17th century this was not their intended purpose. The original wide chairs were designed to allow space for the ample dresses of the period and it wasn’t until the beginning of the 19th century that chairs of this size were being produced under the name love seat, or courting chair.

Evertaut have designed and installed bespoke love seats for several theatres, including the ones shown above on the back row of the circle in the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool. These seats were created by adapting the design of our Orion auditorium seats and provide a unique feature in the theatre.

Evertaut can create bespoke seating solutions either adapted from a seat in our existing range, or something completely new in line with your specifications. If you have a requirement for unique seating in your venue then contact us for a no-obligation chat and find out how we can help. You can call us on 01254 297880, or e-mail
