Restoring an icon: King George’s Hall

Evertaut Ltd has begun work on the seating refurbishment at King George’s Hall, working alongside Conlon Construction as part of a £13.5 million redevelopment of the historic venue.

Located in the heart of Blackburn, King George’s Hall has been a cornerstone of the town’s cultural life for over a century. Since opening in 1921, the Grade II listed building has welcomed internationally recognised performers and continues to play a vital role in the region’s arts and entertainment scene.

This major programme of works will see the venue carefully restored and modernised to ensure it remains fit for future generations, while preserving the character and heritage that make it so significant.

Evertaut has been appointed to deliver the seating refurbishment as part of the scheme, contributing to a substantial investment in the borough’s cultural infrastructure.

The wider redevelopment includes upgrades to facilities, technology and key areas of the building, all designed to futureproof the venue.

Working alongside Conlon Construction, Evertaut will play a key role in enhancing the audience experience, ensuring that comfort, durability and design reflect the importance of the venue.

As a Lancashire manufacturer, the project carries particular significance. Supporting the refurbishment of a landmark venue within our own community is something the business is especially proud to be part of.

For us, this is more than a contract. It is an opportunity to contribute to a space where communities come together, where performances come to life, and where lasting memories are made. Much of our staff team are frequent visitors to the venue. From theatres and lecture halls to stadiums and arenas, Evertaut continues to create seating that supports shared experiences. Spaces like King George’s Hall are more than buildings, they are the backdrop to culture, connection and community.

As the venue prepares to reopen following its transformation, it will stand as a symbol of both heritage and progress, something Evertaut Ltd is proud to help deliver.
